The second Home
This is a list of critieria to determine if you qualify for a second home on your property.
Each jurisdiction has created different ordinances for the second home, and if they have not, then the State of California's Goverenment code 65852.2 is the code to follow.
The State of California requires you have a lot size of 7200 square feet or larger and you have to live in the primary home.
The city of Corona requires you have a minimum lot size of 8000 square feet.
The county of Riverside requires a minimum lot size of one acre.

This table shows the size limits for Riverside County.

The home can be used as a rental or for a family member.
The home must be located in the rear or on the sides of the primary home.
Removing bedrooms 2 and 3 in the plan below gives us 700 square feet.
